What's happening in the Cameron World

Here's the first real update on what's going on in the Nechtan Cameron world.

Cage of the Pawn is the first book. It tells the journey of Cam, Caoimhe, Iain, Owen, Ailsa, Eilidh, and the infamous Dark Druid - Diarmad Mag Uidhir. With it, you, the reader, are introduced to the main characters of the series, the world in which Nechtan Cameron resides, and how things work in that world.

All the locations are actual places in Scotland, from 1 Milton St. to Loch Doon, the Isle of Skye, Achbraad,... everything. The only place that I have fictionalized completely is 1 Milton St. Yes, it is there but it's a three story flat building. The one story stone building that Cam uses is across the street and not exactly what is depicted in the book. I had to take some literary license with that one.

The history is true. There was a Battle of Flodden where thousands of Scots died on the battlefield in a little over an hour, including the King. Leaving Scotland leaderless and in political chaos for quite a while. The Declaration of Arbroath is also a true happening. Most everything else is total fiction.

Enchanted Echoes, an origin story series, is set in 16th Century Scotland around Loch Shiel and Ben Nevis. And, yes, Loch Shiel is a real place for all you Highlander fans. Ben Nevis is the highest peak in Scotland.

Echoes tells where Iain MacGregor gets his magick from. Alaric and Mhairi are his ancestors. It tells Alaric's story from when he first swore an oath to his passing on the responsibility of Keeper, a Druidic order that is conscripted to keep the Veil between worlds intact.

With those out in publication, I felt it was time to revisit the modern Cameron world in Edinburgh. Cam is back to fight the good fight. He's starting up with a new crew even. A young street orphan named Callum MacKenzie and his old friend, Sean Ballantyne, who works as Police Scotland's top inspector. There's plenty of action and intrigue in Return of the Arch-Druid.
